Designed by Seascape Design & Drafting, and built by Glenco Building Group, the Rosebud residence is a split level home with high vaulted ceilings, situated on an elevated site in the bushlands of the Mornington Peninsula. The stunning views of native bush through the sizeable windows and doors from the Carinya product range create a series of natural wall decorations, making wall art unnecessary for the home.
Throughout the three-bedroom home, Carinya Classic awning frames provide openable windows while Carinya Classic sliding doors enable outdoor terrace and balcony access.
Awning windows are increasingly being specified for residential installations, thanks to their multiple functional benefits. At this location, the awning windows capitalise on the house’s elevated position, and facilitate cross ventilation to allow cooling breezes inside while the placement of the hinge at the top of the sash enables the windows to be kept open even in wet weather. Chain winders on the awning windows allow them to be locked in an open position, without compromising on home security or safety. In the Rosebud residence, these windows also work well with other larger panelled fixed windows in the living areas.
Key features of Carinya’s durable Classic awning windows include a 50mm wide integrated sill to accommodate either lockable or non-lockable handles as well as concealed fixings; sash catering for up to 18mm double glazing; and windows sized to fit any requirements for a maximum height of 2.1m and maximum width of 1.2m.
Carinya Classic sliding doors were selected for the Rosebud home to provide access to the outdoor areas including the deck and terrace areas, while further enhancing the leafy outlook with their wide spans. Carinya Classic sliding doors are superior to most residential doors, with many built-in features that keep the home protected from insects, grit and dirt, along with the assurance of weather-tight performance in all conditions. The range also takes advantage of commercial-grade hardware from the Yarra Curve and Edge door lock ranges, which have a 5-pin cylinder system to provide peace of mind.
