THE 13th annual Case Earth Awards for environmental excellence in the civil construction industry will be the last to be sponsored by Case Construction Equipment. The awards will be presented at the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) National Conference in Hobart on November 11 this year. Case marketing manager Wayne Munce says, “At the time the Awards were established, civil contractors were regarded, perhaps unfairly, as being pretty environmentally unaware. The Awards have helped highlight the many innovative environmental solutions contractors were actually implementing.”
Robert Dahan, national president of the CCF says, “The past fourteen years has been a period of tremendous growth in the awareness of the environment by all industries, but particularly by civil contractors, infrastructure clients, industry suppliers, and project managers”. He says the CCF remains committed to recognising excellence in civil construction, particularly in environmental management and innovation. The CCF plans to announce a new partner following this year’s awards presentation at their conference in November. Meanwhile, Case is looking at emerging issues in civil construction and considering other sponsorship opportunities, both with the CCF and other parties.
