A range of machines from CASE Construction Equipment is employed by the
Melbourne-based Presta Construction Group for their civil and road
reconstruction business. Working in the industry for over 25 years, the company
operates a fleet of Case machines comprising of four CX75C Midi crawler
excavators, one CX145C excavator, one CX36B excavator, and three Case skid
steer loaders of various ages and models.
Director Tony Presta explains that he prefers Case machines because of
their reliability and comfort; his company has used the Case brand from the day
Tony’s father started the business 25 years ago. Presta takes up a lot of road works
where the bigger excavators are used for curb and drainage works, while the Case
skid steer loaders are utilised for all the backfilling work.
Listing out the advantages, Tony says he has always found Case machines
to be very reliable. He notes that the newer models have roomy and comfortable
cabs that enable their operators to work fatigue-free for extended periods.
Working mostly in residential projects currently, Presta operators find
features such as zero swing and a good offset helping them work in the tightest
of places without having to worry about access and power line issues. The slimmer
configuration is a distinct, yet standard feature of Case machines.
Case’s CX145C excavator is engineered with prominent rear counterweights
and features a boom placement that minimises the machine’s work envelope,
resulting in a small swing radius that simplifies manoeuvring onto difficult,
small and restricted sites.
The smaller Case CX75C Midi crawler excavator features a minimum swing
radius design, which is also perfect for working in more confined areas, such
as along buildings, car parks and on roadsides, while its newly designed,
larger cab provides operators with more foot space and elbow room.
Some of the older Case equipment used by Presta Construction Group such
as the 1845C skid steer loader is purpose-built for residential building sites,
with a compact chassis that is designed for work in tight residential spaces.
Case Construction is a leading distributor of heavy, MSR and compact
excavators, backhoes, track loaders and skid steer loaders. Backed by a
national dealer network, Case Construction offers parts, service and finance
for a range of earthmoving applications.
