Gas fired Tube Radiant Heaters (TRH) from Celmec International were installed at the Kenworth factory in Melbourne to help the facility increase heating efficiency and reduce costs.
An Australian company that builds safe, robust and reliable trucks, Kenworth was previously using a conventional warm air heating system, which was not only inefficient in performance but also expensive to run. Celmec’s gas fired tube radiant heaters were installed above the factory floor to address the efficiency and cost issues.
Kenworth’s Melbourne factory required heating in an area spanning 6000 square metres and featuring a high ceiling. Celmec installed twelve TRH UP9 units and six TRH UP12 units to provide even, comfortable warmth.
Following an analysis of the gas usage of the two systems over a 1000-hour period, it was found that the factory was able to save $30,000 on gas alone with the TRH system.
Celmec’s TRH units are available in a range of sizes from 53MJ/h to 170MJ/h, offering floor coverage of up to 180 square metres depending on the model and application. A range of controls can be employed to further enhance efficient operations, including zone and thermostatic control.
