Clipsal by Schneider Electric (Clipsal) has announced the launch of Solis™, a range of light switches and sockets that sets a new benchmark in the electrical category and partners perfectly with exceptional architecture and residential design projects.
Solis has been designed with Australian homes top of mind, incorporating world-class design and premium finishes, backed by Schneider Electric’s world-leading research and development. Jim Hannon-Tan, the project’s lead designer alongside the Asia Pacific Design Lab team, designed Solis to use playful asymmetry references such as ‘golden rectangle’, and pure geometric forms.
“Clipsal has stood side-by-side with Aussie sparkies and homes, delivering world-leading electrical innovations for over 100 years. The Solis range is no exception. Using an industrial ceramic, the new designs are tougher, and resistant to dirt, fingerprints, and scratches for an optimal experience,” said Chris Kerr, CEO of Clipsal by Schneider Electric.
“We created the Solis range to meet the needs of those who desire a beautiful, functional product that could sit easily in high-end projects, while satisfying the technical requirements of electricians, and delighting residential homeowners.”
Solis is available in two series. For those who prefer monochromatic switches and sockets, the Solis series features a fine matte texture in black and white. Meanwhile, the Solis T-series was created to elevate designs further and is available in brushed brass, anodised aluminium, and white ceramic.
“Power points and light switches may sit in a wall for up to 30 years, so it's important that they are built to withstand Australian conditions with design themes that are consistent across decades. We touch light switches more often than other home items, so it should feel luxurious each time,” added Kerr.
According to Kerr, the Solis range was designed in consultation with interior designers, architects, electricians, and residential homeowners, creating an offering that eliminates any of the industry's common pain points when it comes to light switches and sockets.
“The new range has been created with architects and designers in mind, providing them with an electrical product as carefully considered as their commissioned works. Solis might be a small part of their overall design, but it brings an important level of quality and attention to detail to residential projects,” concluded Kerr.
The Solis range is available Australia-wide from spring through electricians and Clipsal’s authorised wholesalers.
