Clockwork Projects was contacted by two company directors to discuss the design challenges of merging two companies into one office space. The company was selected from a handful of competing designers and successfully transformed the enormous design task.
Company mergers can be difficult enough without the added hassles and arguments of deciding how to make more room for the new staff, how to accommodate the new staffs equipment, company culture, doubling of human resources and so on.
The design challenge was to create an environment that was inclusive, allowed open communication and assisting the client to choose an adequate new office site. One of the difficulties within the design was to create a space suitable for senior lawyers who originally sat within a closed office. The new design allowed for an open space and private meeting areas suitable for confidential meetings. Centralising all communication was easily achieved with clever filing systems and a very accessible utility area for all staff.
