Concrete Masonry Association of Australia was formed in 1967. Concrete Masonry Association of Australia was started as a co-operative non-profit organisation. Initially, Cement and Concrete Association of Australia offered space, technical and administrative assistance to Concrete Masonry Association of Australia, to help in the establishment of the organisation.
An executive officer was appointed in 1983 to look after the association’s workload and development of Masonry Codes and Standards. Concrete Masonry Association of Australia has now transformed into a fully-independent organisation. The association works under an Executive Director, but continues to maintain a relationship with Cement and Concrete Association of Australia Board of directors. A full-time national secretariat is maintained by Concrete Masonry Association of Australia in Sydney. Representative members are from each Member Company and a promotional committee from each state coordinates the activities related to the development of local markets.
A national technical committee develops research modules and monitors the technical issues of the Concrete Masonry Association of Australia. This committee also directs and provides support in the development of masonry Codes and Standards.
