Ever Art Wood batten cladding from Covet International was used to create a striking facade on the Kings Domain apartments in Melbourne. Along with a helix-shaped ground level canopy, the aluminium battens lend an air of opulence to the building, making the apartment complex resemble a luxury hotel.
Designed by SJB Architects, the Kings Domain apartment complex is located just a short distance from the Shrine and Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne. The design combines excellent functionality with intricate attention to detail, with each element carefully selected for both function and form.
Ever Art Wood timber-look aluminium battens are used throughout the interior and exterior of the building. Unlike real timber, the aluminium battens present a low maintenance solution that retains colour and premium finish over time.
The lightweight and versatile Kabebari two-part concealed fix battens were also used on the tilt lift garage doors and ground floor entrances.
The aluminium construction of Ever Art Wood makes it ideal for garden and pool areas where the battens can withstand environments that pose a challenge for real wood.
The Ever Art Wood range is also fire rated, performing well when tested to AS/NZ 1530.3 (spread of flame / index 0) and AS/NZ 3837-1998 (result / Group 1).
