The tube shaped timber look battens on the facade of Lanzhou’s flagship store in Chadstone, Victoria are a nod to the restaurant’s signature beef noodle dish.
Designed by Ignite Architects, the new Lanzhou restaurant opened at Chadstone, Melbourne’s largest and most luxurious shopping precinct. Covet’s Ever Art Wood timber look Koshi battens allowed the designers to realise their vision for the store’s facade.
The undulating timber look battens across the front of the restaurant add interest and movement to the venue’s exterior, creating a striking impact.
The installation was made simple using Ever Art Wood Koshi hollow section aluminium battens. The lightweight battens were supplied prefinished with a textured timber look wrap and cut to length. Ceiling battens were mounted to curved supports, and battens of staggered lengths create a ripple effect along the perimeter of the outdoor seating area.
Vacuum sealed end caps featuring the same realistic timber look polymer wrap as the battens were chosen to finish the ends of each section, adding to the realism of the timber look.
