Cowdroy announces the introduction of their new Insect Screen range, the most comprehensive available in Australia, complete with a game-changing augmented reality smartphone app, Cowdroy Screenview.
The Cowdroy Insect Screen range is ideal for many different applications, with the meshes offering superior airflow, pet scratch proofing, small insect protection, rustproof stainless steel, ember protection, as well as pollen and dust resistance, among many other benefits.
The broad range of screening is supported by a comprehensive offering of all the accessories required to assemble new screens or refurbish existing screens, including aluminium frames, spline, frame buttons, corners and spline rollers, making installation a breeze.
The accompanying smartphone app, Screenview, which is available for both Apple and Android devices, allows users to preview the prospective screen options in real-time through the windows or doors where the screen will be fitted.
“The Cowdroy Insect Screen range is something that we are very proud of,” said Peter Doyle, Cowdroy business development manager.
“We have been able to introduce to the market a full range of innovative products, as well as unprecedented technology with our Screenview App.
“Screenview gives consumers an exact representation of the aesthetics of our various products over any view, in real life, and can connect them to their nearest stockist.
“What attracted us to the category was that it was a very tired corner of the marketplace, where there have been limited improvements in the past decade, it was poorly merchandised, and nobody was genuinely presenting a full range.
“Previously, the assumption was that everyone knew what they were doing, and the installation instructions often reflected that.
“We have been able to develop a truly comprehensive offering, designed straightforward with easy to follow instructions and packaging for DIYers, as well as gather together all of the accessories required to get the job completed.
“The total range also brings to the market some important innovations with product types, such as pollen proofing and ember resistance, which will be particularly attractive to consumers who suffer from allergies, or live in fire-prone areas.”
Cowdroy’s new Insect Screen range begins with the Fibreglass option, which offers simple installation and good visibility, with the PVC coated yarn offering dent-free protection.
Six times stronger than standard fibreglass screening is the Pet Guard option, featuring heavyweight polyester, which can withstand damage from pets and children.
The Small Insect option has a weave twice as tight as standard fibreglass.
Superior Mesh features UV stabilised heavy-duty polyethylene yarn, which is resistant to UV and corrosion, and is four times tougher than fibreglass screening, while Clearview offers improved visibility with superior airflow.
Pollen Proof is a significant innovation in the insect screen marketplace, with its unique knit providing a barrier to block the passage of 87% of pollen and dust.
The powder-coated Aluminium Mesh outlasts severe weather conditions, while Ultra Tough’s heavy gauge wire is 20% thicker, providing improved protection and durability.
Meanwhile, the 316 marine grade Stainless Steel option is also resistant to corrosion and rust, while reducing glare.
Aluminium Mesh, Ultra Tough and Stainless Steel have all been specially tested and certified to provide ember defence for installations at risk of bushfires.
Complementing the new Insect Screen range is a full suite of frame and corner options, with frames available in six different aluminium colours, while aluminium and PVC frame corner inserts are available alongside complete frame component kits with PVC corners.
Mating the screens to the frame seamlessly are numerous spline options, including different polyethylene and rubber alternatives in various diameters and lengths, with three spline rollers available, suitable for occasional DIY repairs through to use by professional tradespeople.
Cowdroy also brings to the marketplace the full suite of accessories, including flush, turn and offset buttons, plus frame hinges, lift tabs and metal spring pins for attaching insect screens inside window frames. Also available is a flyscreen window porthole, an aluminium flyscreen mitre box, as well as adjustable and removable flyscreens.
Additionally, the range includes several door curtain types such as PVC, light-duty PVC, fibreglass and polyester mesh curtains, containing an automatic magnetic closing system to keep out flies and insects.
Various repair patches and repair rolls are available, with Cowdroy also offering a specialised roller brush for simple cleaning of all screen types.
