Cubis Systems supplied its STAKKAbox ULTIMA Connect network access pit solution to NEXCITY through its partner, Brezillon. The large 5200mm x 1400mm x 1500mm pit was built onsite in a densely populated area around an existing 300mm water supply pipe.
Given the site restrictions, the STAKKAbox ULTIMA Connect proved to be the ideal pit system thanks to its ability to be delivered to site flat-packed, offering flexibility during construction. The lightweight components eliminated any health and safety concerns surrounding the handling of large specialist equipment onsite unlike traditional methods such as precast concrete.
The network access pit was built around the existing pipeline by cutting the easily adaptable components of the STAKKAbox ULTIMA Connect with hand tools onsite. The installation of the pit took less than two hours before VEOLIA installed the new water hydraulic equipment into the existing pipe work.
The network access pit was then covered with Cubis’ A15 composite covers to provide a bigger and clear opening for future entry to the pit and hydraulic system when needed.
