Cubis ULTIMA Connect access pits and covers were specified and installed by Wales and West Utilities at a recent gas infrastructure project to replace the existing brick built structures around high pressure gas valves.
Cubis Systems supplied modular, scalable, flat pack pits in various sizes – bespoke to each site – that enabled overbuilding of the new pits around the large high-pressure gas valves without the need for shuttering or specialist concrete work. The flat packed pit solutions enabled rapid installation times with the contractor assembling all pits onsite in less than a day.
Cubis also supplied lightweight, easy-to-lift AX-S C250 composite frames and covers to complement each access pit.
The Cubis team worked closely with the asset owner from the initial design phase to final installation, providing bespoke engineering calculations for each site, supporting backfill recommendations and delivering relevant drawings, BIM files and installation guides. This collaboration helped optimise installation speed and increased process efficiencies to ensure yet another successful energy project.
