Timber look aluminium cladding from DECO added the final touch to a new Balinese-inspired house on the NSW South Coast. DecoClad V-Groove aluminium cladding in DecoWood ‘Western Red Cedar’ finish helped the builder, Build Platinum Pty Ltd achieve the desired tropical paradise look on the house.
DecoClad V-Groove 180mm cladding in DecoWood ‘Western Red Cedar’ was selected for the external and alfresco ceilings. Addressing both aesthetic and functional design objectives, the cladding’s DecoWood timber finish provided the traditional Balinese look and feel sought by the clients while also meeting their low maintenance requirements.
Ryan Bray of Build Platinum Pty Ltd said DecoClad V-Groove Western Red Cedar boards were used for the project. Describing the product as ‘amazing’, he added that one had to tap the board before realising it wasn’t real timber.
Since the house was located on a beachfront property, the materials also needed to withstand the harsh high exposure environment. The Super Durable DecoWood finish offers a marine grade and UV resistant coating for a long-lasting, beautiful result.
Being a non-combustible solid aluminium cladding product meeting AS1530.1 and AS1530.3 requirements, DecoClad also provided the owners the confidence of a fire safe material for the natural bush environment in which the building was situated.
