Curtin University’s new Medical & Teaching Facility features a blend of formal and informal learning spaces, enhanced by cutting-edge audio-visual, communication, IT and security systems, all set within a striking curved precast concrete façade.

One of the interior's most innovative aspects is the extensive use of timber finishes lining the main entrance, which extends to the full height of the atrium. Instead of traditional flat panelling, the design showcases timber fractal lining and 3D wall panelling with dynamic peaks, returns, and troughs.

Various acoustic panels were utilised, including perforated DecorZen, slatted timber, and seamless perforated plasterboard.

This exceptional design fosters an inspiring learning environment and sets a new standard for educational facilities. The seamless integration of innovative materials and technology creates a space that encourages collaboration and engagement among students and faculty alike. We are thrilled to see this vision come to life and excited for its positive impact on the Curtin University community for years to come.
