Designbuild, Australasia’s largest trade only building and design expo, will be staged in Perth for the first time on 12-14 October 2007 at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

“Sustained high levels of economic activity, strong growth in the resource sector and a sharp increase in property infrastructure investment, combined with the great new exhibition centre, means that the time is right for Perth to host Designbuild,” according to organisers Diversified Exhibitions Australia .

Designbuild is a trade only event where building and design industry specifiers come face-to-face with national and international suppliers and manufacturers of building industry products and services. Visitors can see and evaluate first hand the new products and trends. The exhibition will have a major focus on Sustainability and Green Building and will champion the green building cause in WA by providing the knowledge at Green Building Seminars and the inspiration in a Green Building Zone, featuring the new trends in green building products.

The exhibition is supported by The Master Builders Association, Green Building Council, Australian Tile Council, Institute of Plumbing, CEDIA and the Building Designers Association who will also be involved in assembling leading-edge practitioners of environmentally sustainable architecture, design, building and construction to speak about the green building revolution in the seminars to be conducted in a purpose-built theatre on the show floor.

“Those professionals who have questions or doubt the economic value of sustainable building will have their questions answered, while those already committed to green building will be exposed to some of the latest innovations in the one place and saving valuable time,” said Exhibition Director, Bill Hare. “Everywhere you look you will discover new thinking to inspire and inform you. It will definitely be the must see event for the industry this year.”

Home automation is another hot subject and at Designbuild, the smart home exhibitors will showcase the products, services and technologies required for this rapidly evolving industry. A bonus for Perth visitors will be the participation in the expo of CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) and company members will be demonstrating and discussing the new technologies available.

Elsewhere in the show will be virtually every area involved in the building and design industries including information technology, electrics, interiors, plumbing, building materials, roofing, tile and stone, landscaping, kitchens and bathrooms; in fact, if it is used in building, more than likely, it will be on show at Designbuild.

“We are confident Designbuild Perth will be a welcome addition to the Australasian building and design industry’s calendar for many years to come and encourage everyone in the industry to make it their business to be there,” said Mr Hare.

Designbuild Perth is a trade only exhibition and people, including children, not in the building industry will not be admitted.
