DesignEX announces the call for entries for the Hettich Design Challenge Award 2012.
Now an integral part of the Southern Hemisphere’s most respected design event, the Hettich Design Challenge offers an inimitable opportunity for Australia’s top professional young designers to work amongst peers and industry leaders, promoting their skill, AND their supporting company.
Supported by the Design Institute of Australia, the prestigious three-day contest pits four talented finalists against each other, on-site at designEX 2012 (Sydney Exhibition Centre, 14-16 May, 2012), competing for a $2,500 cash prize.
“Entry is free, the rules are simple and the prize is fantastic, but it’s the onsite experience which is the most valuable as the competition unfolds live on the show floor ” explains DIA’s Nick Karkovasitis who has created this year’s Hettich Design Challenge brief.
The 2012 brief is centred on creating storage solutions from Hettich components for high-density living spaces, a theme that is “particularly relevant for the changing Australian architectural landscape” said Nick.
Using 3 components from a range of Hettich parts, finalists will be free to create integrated, free standing or mobile storage solutions, intended for any part of the home. “Sponsored by a world-leading innovator, this competition provides a platform for the very best designers to make their mark in the most dynamic of industry environments” said Nick.
The Hettich Design Challenge is open to professional junior designers with a maximum of 3 years’ experience, with support from their firm.
Entries close March 25.
DesignEX is organised by Diversified Exhibitions Australia .
