Host of the successful UK television show Grand Designs, Kevin McCloud, is set to visit Australia in October 2011 to officially open the inaugural Grand Designs Australia LIVE.
The live event, run by Diversified Exhibitions Australia , will bring the international and Australian television shows to life at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre with special design exhibitions.
Throughout the three day show from 21st to 23rd October, visitors will be have access to inspirational design ideas, quality renovation and home improvement solutions.
“Grand Designs Australia LIVE is the television series turned 3D! With the special features and over 300 exhibitors it’s sure to be a worthwhile experience. Those who come will also get to share a bit of the sparkle and magic of the television show,” said Kevin McCloud about officially opening the premier live event.

Peter Maddison, host of the Grand Designs Australia TV program, will officially open the event. He said: “Grand Designs Australia Live will be the ultimate of the 2011 home design exhibitions, whether you are an owner/builder, renovator or simply interested in stunning interiors or arresting outdoor spaces, big or small. I will also revisit some of the projects, design concepts and innovations featured in the TV show. It’s great to be part of the next step in the Grand Designs Australia story.”
Grand Designs Australia LIVE will be produced under license from FremantleMedia Enterprises, the brand extension and licensing arm of FremantleMedia Australia, and is supported by the Australian Institute of Architects.
