Enviro Acoustics supplied Envirospray 300 spray on acoustic coating for use at the Sydney Superdrome (Acer Arena) in Homebush Bay.With a seating capacity of 21,000, this building was constructed in 1999 and has hosted numerous international artists.
It was necessary for the roof to be insulated with recycled materials dur to unique ecological designs. The roof had to perform as an STC55 barrier against noise ingress from the adjacent 85000 seat main Stadium.
Supported by an external suspension system the roof is required to have a weight loading of 55kg/m2 so that the internal open areas could be created without columns.
Envirospray 300 spray on acoustic coating from Enviro Acoustics satisfied all requirements including acoustic parameters, tight budget constraints and environmental concerns.
Envirospray 300 spray on acoustic coating was used over a total area of 14,000 square metres. Approximately 65,000 Sydney phone books were recycled for the project which was completed in 60 days.
Envirospray 300 is a cost effective, spray on acoustic coating that can be utilised for its excellent reverberation control in internal spaces and high transmission loss barriers.
It can be applied up to 150mm thick to a range of substrate surfaces such as metal, concrete, timber or plasterboard.
Once cured, Envirospray 300 will permanently bond to the surface and has a pleasing visual appearance and carpet like texture.
Envirospray 300 is available in Steel Grey and Off White.
