Resin flooring specialist Flowcrete announces the launch of the Flowfresh Sealer system, its latest innovation in food safe flooring technology. Representing the next stage in the evolution of food grade flooring, the full gloss, polyurethane antimicrobial enhanced Flowfresh Sealer system features an innovative formulation that helps create striking and aesthetically appealing floors. Flowfresh Sealer replaces existing polyurethane flooring systems for food environments that are used to create purely functional, uninspiring surfaces.
The first of its kind to be introduced to the Australian flooring market, this colourful coating was developed to provide the food and beverage sector with aesthetically appealing floors able to keep up with the rapidly evolving needs of this complex industry. Flowfresh Sealer’s gloss finish allows simple cleaning while the seamless, hygienic surface created with the coating ensures the floor meets all the requirements of food-safe flooring facility design.
Flowcrete Australia Managing Director Sean Tinsley explains that food grade flooring has had to continually improve over the years to comply with the stringent criteria of authorities such as Food Standards Australia New Zealand as well as internationally recognised food safety standards. The latest development ensures food processing facilities can have a floor finish that combines bold, eye-catching, full gloss colours with all the resilience and hygienic properties required within intense industrial locations. The durability of Flowfresh means that the floor area will retain its vibrancy in the challenging environments of food production and processing spaces.
The entire Flowfresh range has recently been HACCP International Certified, a globally recognised benchmark of food safety that designates materials, equipment and services as safe for use within the food industry to minimise the risk of contamination incidents.
According to HACCP International guidelines, the floor has to provide a hygienic, seamless, impervious and easy to clean surface, and continue to do so for the long term in the face of corrosive chemicals, moisture, impacts and thermal shock.
Vibrant floors, such as those enabled by Flowfresh Sealer not only offer an aesthetic advantage, but can be used to enhance on-site working processes. For example, different colours can be used to clearly designate high-care zones from low-care areas of the site to avoid cross-contamination.
Having revolutionised the food grade flooring market since its introduction, the Flowfresh range of polyurethane flooring remains the only resin flooring solution available to the Australian market that harnesses the natural bactericidal properties of silver to eliminate germs in contact with the coating.
Based on Flowcrete’s exclusive global collaboration with the anti-bacterial agent manufacturer Polygiene, the Flowfresh formulation has the Polygiene additive homogenously distributed throughout the polyurethane matrix to create a surface that can kill 99.9% of germs.
