Invercargill’s Ascot Park Hotel has recently undergone a significant refurbishment to its foyer, corridors and restaurant areas. The hotel’s main reception desk received a major facelift, complemented by bespoke carpet, refreshed interior design, and distinctive furnishings. This modern update has transformed the space into a welcoming and stylish environment for guests.
Ascot remains ILT and Invercargill’s premier conference and events centre. It is a world-class hotel that ILT has invested heavily in, more recently with a rebrand and extensive room refurbishments.
The renovation was a collaborative effort involving local company Regal Floors and GH Commercial. GH Commercial provided custom 48oz woven carpet, featuring various patterns and colours, thereby, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the space. Specifically designed for the main foyer entrance, the carpet pays homage to the Ascot brand with its distinctive horse head logo, reflecting the hotel’s storied history while embracing a modern outlook.
Woven carpets seamlessly blend functionality with aesthetic appeal, offering a thicker, more luxurious pile compared to other flooring options, and are capable of withstanding heavy foot traffic. Combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, the interwoven pile and backing securely lock patterns into place, ensuring a durable and stable surface without the need for adhesive. Crafted from a premium wool blend fibre, these carpets are renowned for their resilience and luxurious comfort underfoot.
ILT Chief Executive Chris Ramsay highlighted the significance of the investment in Ascot Park Hotel, noting that it underscores the hotel's status as a premier destination for conferences and events.
Ascot Park Hotel’s Executive Manager Dean Nicol expressed his delight with the revamped foyer. “Our guests are really enjoying the new space, where they can relax with a drink, take a meeting, or simply soak up the ambience. It really has transformed the area.”
