The Cradle 2 Cradle (C2C) certification is a globally recognised standard for the circular economy.
Products are assessed across five categories:
- Material health: Raw materials – safe as possible for humans and the environment.
- Material reutilisation: Eliminating the concept of waste – ensure that products remain in perpetual cycles of use and reuse.
- Renewable energy and carbon management: Products are manufactured using renewable energy – reduce or eliminate the impact of greenhouse gases.
- Water stewardship: Water is recognised as a valuable resource – clean water is available to people and all other organisms.
- Social fairness: Business operations – honours all people and natural systems affected by manufacturing of products.
Modulyss' C2C Certified® collections
Modulyss has 163 Cradle to Cradle Certified® products.
- Of the 163 products, 34 have achieved Gold level and 129, Silver level.
- Modulyss’ Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold and Silver products – only in combination with ecoBack backing.
- ecoBack backing has a minimum 75% recycled content, and achieves Cradle 2 Cradle Certified® Gold. It is PVC- and bitumen-free, and can be fully recycled into first grade backing again.
The Cradle 2 Cradle Certified® certification contributes to LEED, WELL v2 and Living Building Challenge.
