Stainless steel tactile indicators from Guardian Tactile Systems have been installed along several pedestrian areas at Yagan Square in Perth, WA.
One of Perth’s most popular community hubs, Yagan Square is located in the heart of the CBD and provides a pedestrian connection between the CBD and Northbridge at William Street. The square also links to the Perth train station and the new underground bus port.
Contracted by Doric Group Construction, Guardian Tactile supplied and installed over 90 square metres of discrete 316 marine-grade stainless steel tactile indicators.
To ensure compliance with Design for Access and Mobility standards, ground surface warning tactiles were installed at the top and bottom of stairways to warn vision-impaired pedestrians. Additionally, ground surface directional tactiles were installed from the train station entry points to nearby stairways and pedestrian routes, serving as guidance for these users.
