ECOPact is Holcim Australia's low carbon concrete brand.
Currently, 20% of Australia’s annual greenhouse gas emissions derive from construction, with building materials a key contributor. ECOPact can reduce embodied carbon by 30% to 60% compared to the Australian National Life Cycle Inventory Database (AusLCI). It is manufactured by replacing a percentage of standard cement with alternative materials. ECOPact is backed by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). Holcim was the first concrete company in Australia to register an EPD.
In another Australian first, Holcim now provides the opportunity to offset any remaining embodied carbon from ready-mix concrete. Known as ECOPact ZERO, this means the concrete component of your project can be carbon neutral. Holcim gained official certification from the Australian Government’s Climate Active program to sell industry-approved, carbon neutral, ready-mix concrete.
