A new hoist for lifting steel beams during construction of houses, unit blocks and factory complexes is lighter, simpler and easier to manoeuvre than traditional lifts.
Kennards Lift and Shift have added the German-designed beam lifter to their expanding materials handling equipment hire range. The device can also be hired from some Kennards Hire branches.
The beam lifter can lift beams weighing up to 600kg to a height from 1.57m to 3.05m. The beam lifter weighs just 86kg, compared with 137kg for a traditional material hoist, and folds into a compact size of 1.57m by 730mm and 600mm.
The beam lifter has less moving parts and no cables or wire rope. Instead, a simple but effective worm drive is used to elevate the arm. The load holder at the end of the arm rotates so that the beam can be swung around to fit through doorways.
Kennards Lift and Shift have centres in Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Kennards Lift and Shift have a wide range of equipment for safe, labour-saving materials handling solutions for the most awkward situations. Staff are fully trained and able to provide advice and solutions for jobs of all difficulties.
