Equipment hire specialist Kennards Hire Lift & Shift was recently contacted
to help move a large fully stocked wooden wine rack at Costco Wholesale,
Docklands.
Maintenance Supervisor at Costco, David Kheo was responsible for relocating
the enormous 8.0 metre x 1.5 metre wine rack at their warehouse. Seeking safe
options to move the wine rack while ensuring load stability to protect the
stock, David contacted Kennards Hire Lift & Shift and was recommended trolley
skates as the most suitable solution for the job.
Each trolley skate features four large diameter full-swivel castors,
while the platform is fitted with a rubber surface, which helps protect the
object being moved from damage and also adds to slip resistance.
Costco hired 17 one-tonne trolley skates from Kennards Hire Lift &
Shift and David’s team was able to complete the job in two hours against the
earlier estimate of about five hours. David reports that all the bottles in the
wine rack made it safely across the 200-metre journey to the opposite end of
the warehouse.
Having hired equipment from Kennards Hire Lift & Shift for the first
time, David comments that he will definitely use their services again for their
large moves around the store.
