Kobelco has partnered with Queensland truck dealership Westco Trucks to expand their dealer network in the region.
Westco Trucks decided to partner with Kobelco and extend their sales and service offering upon realising that most of their customers also operated earthmoving equipment. The Westco Trucks Kobelco franchise consists of four branches in the large central and north Queensland regions.
Observing that the new partnership filled a real need for their customers, Westco Trucks’ General Manager for North Queensland, Bernie Trevallion explained that most of their trucking customers also operated earthmoving machinery. Sensing an opportunity to service their customers in another way, Westco decided to enter the earthmoving equipment business.
Westco sought a brand that had a reputation for high quality and was a business that was big enough to be well supported on the service side but still be able to build a good business relationship with them. According to Bernie, the Kobelco brand ticked all the boxes. Additionally, the market-leading fuel-efficiency, reliability and resilience of Kobelco machines were key reasons for Westco to partner with Kobelco.
Bernie adds that their customers represent every imaginable part of the industry, from road building and residential development through to landscaping. Most are owner-operators who are time poor; being able to bring their business asset needs together in one spot saves them time and in many cases, money.
Kobelco General Manager – Sales and Service, Doug McQuinn said that it was an easy decision to partner with Westco Trucks. Kobelco was focussed on partnering with a reputable dealer that shared their values of exceptional customer service and passion for the industry.
Doug added that the entire range of Kobelco machines will be available through the dealership, from the nimble one tonne SK008 through to the powerful 50-tonne SK500LC-9.
Westco Trucks is strongly supported by service technicians who specialise in earthmoving equipment in each branch across the network. Westco is also working closely with Kobelco to keep their staff trained and updated with the latest technology in the field.
