Landmark Products was engaged by Randwick City Council to provide a shelter for Heffron Park in the Jersey Road precinct, Maroubra, NSW.
Based on a design first seen in a National Parks and Wildlife facilities manual, Landmark designed and engineered two custom-built shelters featuring a distinctive and strong look.
Both shelters were constructed entirely of steel. The large roof span of 6.92 m x 4.8 m was positioned to maximise shade during the hotter parts of the day.
At the same time, the steel structure was hot dipped galvanised and powder coated, providing a high level of corrosion resistance.
The woodland grey custom orb roof sheeting was furthermore chosen for its strong colour, which highlights the strong design stance of the shelter.
Heffron Park is being developed as one of Maroubra’s central hubs for sporting activities such as cycling and netball, with the shelter offering the community a respite from the weather, and a space for relaxing and gathering.
