Hunter Douglas Architectural supplied motorised roller blinds to an office building in Sydney, New South Wales to meet their sustainability objectives.
Located at 8 Chifley Square, the building was designed by Rogers Strik Harbour + Partners and Lippmann Associates. Multi-functional window coverings were required to maximise the entry of natural light into the building’s workspaces.
Since the building had already achieved a 6 Star Green Star Office Design Rating and was also committed to achieving a 5 Star NABERS Energy Rating, it was imperative that the building incorporated sustainable window coverings.
Turner Bros installed 1458 linked motorised sunscreen roller blinds featuring Screen Nature fabric to manage solar gain and glare, as well as 44 linked, motorised blockout roller blinds using Matrix fabric to fulfil the tenant’s meeting and boardroom requirements.
Turner Bros Director Scott Turner explained that they chose Screen Nature for the roller blinds as the fabric combined high functionality with great aesthetic appeal. They were also able to achieve their primary objectives to provide window coverings that would maximise natural light, be environmentally sound and cater to 8 Chifley’s multidisciplinary uses.
