Magnetite Retrofit Double Glazing partnered with MEP Films to present various retrofit double glazing solutions for creating building efficiency at ESD’s Reach for the Stars event.
ESD Solution recently hosted a sustainability event in the Citiclub building. This building was a pilot study in the city of Melbourne’s 1200 Buildings Programme that won an award for ‘Best Specific Environmental Initiative’ at the World Environmental Day Awards.
Magnetite retrofitted the existing windows as part of the building façade upgrade at this iconic building, which reduced energy use by up to 27%, increasing the NABERS ratings from 2½ stars up to 4½ stars.
‘Reach for the Stars’ was held in February 2014, attracting over 300 professionals including the who’s who of Melbourne’s leading architects, engineers, property managers, building owners, ESD specialists and builders. The event included retrofit workshops followed by a discussion panel that debated the challenges and solutions, including finance for retrofit projects.
As part of this event, Magnetite partnered with MEP Films to present various retrofit double glazing solutions for creating building efficiency. The latest sensor display unit was also available for the visitors to experience Magnetite retrofit solutions for both noise and thermal concerns.
WERS test results confirm that the combination of Magnetite’s secondary glazing with MEP’s Enerlogic film provides an impressive U-value of 1.8 and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of 0.2.
