Fantastic news for the Swan Lake Inlet community, with the new shared user path and bridge connecting Springs Road and the Cudmirrah township, making riding, scooting, and strolling safer and more enjoyable.
Built in response to community concerns about cyclist safety on the existing vehicular bridge, the new pedestrian bridge connects to a new shared path, allowing a separated route for pedestrians and cyclists crossing the waterway.
The pathway serves as a vital community connection, giving everyone safe and easy access to town. It also encourages both residents and tourists to leave their cars behind and engage in physical activity as they explore Swan Lake Inlet.
Part-funded by the Australian Government and majorly funded by the Federal and State Government’s Road Safety Program, the two-metre-wide path and bridge are a valuable addition to the area.
Strong focus on barrier compliance for safety
As a leading designer and manufacturer of safety railings, Moddex understands how products like ours enhance accessibility and inclusivity, but above all, ensure safety. For this shared public path, safety was a top priority. Compliant handrails and balustrades are essential in creating environments that protect everyone, regardless of age or ability.
Moddex’s Bikesafe bikeway barriers were installed along the shared path to safeguard pedestrians and cyclists, particularly those travelling at high speeds, from potential falls and injuries. With a strong emphasis on designing barriers that meet the relevant standards, in this case, the Austroads Guide to Road Design, our client, South Coast Welding & Fabrication were confident that they were in expert hands with Moddex.
Moddex bikeway barriers are designed to align with Austroads Guide to Road Design Part 6A and 6B.
Moddex Bikesafe bikeway barriers are a compliant barrier system that ensures public areas are safe for the community.
