Drainage cells manufactured by Novaplas Pty Ltd were selected for a rainwater harvesting tank at a secondary grammar school in Camberwell.
Novaplas’ Drainwell DW1592 drainage cells were chosen as a cost-effective and easy-to-install solution to capture rainwater for the 200m³ tank installed under the main playing field area of the school. Water stored in the rainwater tank is used to irrigate the turfed area, helping to significantly reduce mains water consumption at the school. Selected by the builder and approved by the architect, the Drainwell system was assembled and installed by the contractor within a few days with Novaplas present onsite throughout the duration of the tank installation.
Manufactured from 100% recycled materials, the Drainwell system is among the most cost effective stormwater solutions available and also chemically inert. Delivered to the site unassembled in a flat pack form, Drainwell modules do not require heavy lifting equipment for handling and installation.
Drainwell drainage cells facilitate the creation of a cost effective subsurface water management system. With the tank installed underneath the playing field, the school was able to maximise use of the precious land, better maintain the surface and also reduce mains water charges.
