OneSteel ’s Waratah Longlife Netting in conjunction with Galstar Plus Posts was selected as the best product to keep pests, vermin and feral animals out of a new waste disposal centre being built to service the wider Adelaide area.
The landfill is a Waste Management Pacific (SA) project currently being constructed to manage waste from Adelaide and surrounding areas. With a 400,000t per annum planned throughput, the waste disposal centre is part of a planned eco-industrial project offering a multi-faceted integrated solution for collection, recycling, transfer station, haulage and disposal.
Waste Management Pacific (SA) manager Geoffrey Webster says the Waratah Longlife Netting was the best product to keep animals out of the landfill. “The purpose of the boundary fence is to keep out the pests and Waratah Longlife Netting does this,” he says. “Strung loosely, it prevents animals climbing it and an overhang stops them getting over if they do manage to get to the top.The coating on the product also means it will not deteriorate over time.”
