Specialist heavy machinery company Porter Hire is launching into the Australian market, offering companies in the mining, natural gas and civil engineering sectors a range of options to hire or purchase high-quality equipment.
Porter Hire is part of the Porter Group, which has been a distributor of Hyundai construction equipment through its Hyundai Construction Equipment Australia (HCEA) subsidiary for 10 years. HCEA has branches throughout Australia.
One of New Zealand’s largest hire companies, Porter Hire is focused entirely on the earthmoving and heavy plant market operating a massive fleet of over 3,000 units in New Zealand, Southern California and now Australia.
Commenting on the great feedback from the Australian market, Porter Hire Australia General Manager Nathan Abbott says that there are a number of opportunities in their chosen markets. In Australia, Porter Hire is focussed on the mining, liquefied natural gas and associated civil works, civil construction and infrastructure markets with a range of heavy equipment.
Porter Hire’s fleet includes excavators from 1.6 tonnes to 120 tonnes, articulated dump trucks from 25 tonnes to 40 tonnes, 28,000 and 36,000 litre water carts, various sized graders, loaders from 1.5m³ to 5.0m³, and a wide range of dozers, skid steer loaders, compactors and compaction rollers.
According to Nathan Abbott, Porter Hire’s new hire fleet will primarily be made up of Hyundai equipment and the company will source machinery at short notice, as required by its customers.
Porter Hire can supply machinery for medium or long-term hire and will focus on meeting the specialised needs of large projects across Australia through packaged solutions. Customers will have access to machinery and knowledgeable staff through Porter Hire’s branches, and also benefit from field service and on-site maintenance support. Customers will also be able to choose from a range of hire or purchase packages, including rent-to-buy.
