Handmade bricks from the Petersen D91 range were used to create an impressive facade on a beautifully appointed home in Melbourne’s Toorak suburb. Designed by Rob Mills Architects, this four-bedroom home combined meticulous design and careful construction with custom made and handcrafted finishes. The selection of Petersen bricks, measuring 228 x 108 x 54mm for the external facade helped create a dramatic impact that continues to turn heads.
Rob Mills Architects chose Petersen D91 handmade bricks purely for the aesthetics; they knew the bricks would perfectly complement the other external materials, particularly the black detailing of the garage and the automated external louvres.
The use of Petersen D91 bricks helped create the best standout feature of the house – the street-facing curved facade that was also one of the reasons for the many accolades awarded to Visioneer Builders.
This stunning construction with the striking brick facade took home three awards at the 2016 HIA-CSR Victorian Housing Awards including Home of the Year, Custom Built Home of the Year and Custom Built Home Over $2 million.
