SBS Group fabricated and supplied their steel framing solution for an aged care development in Mornington, Victoria.
Designed by MSM & Associates, the building features prefabricated SBS Smart Frame for the top level wall and roof truss framing. Using BHP cold formed Truecore material, the wall framing and roof trusses were prefabricated for planned erection onsite.
SBS’ Build Smarter system was applied at the project to achieve several benefits including eliminating unnecessary structural steel, while fabricating the acoustic double walls into one wall to provide a quick and ready solution. Doors and windows were also easily incorporated into the prefabricated framing design.
The engineered design also included prefabrication of complex roof pitched junctions and long span trusses.
Thanks to steel’s resistance to rotting, twisting or shrinking, the building can withstand termite damage and also reduce long term building maintenance requirement compared to traditional timber alternatives.
