Schiavello Group supplied several furniture and storage solutions to
meet the design objectives of Cotton On Group’s new North Geelong office.
Designed by PTID Environments, Cotton On Group’s newly refurbished
Distribution Centre and Warehouse in Geelong, Victoria offers an exciting new
office environment that supports and enhances the organisation’s culture, while
meeting the unique requirements of its family of brands including Cotton On and
stationary brand Typo.
Spread over 3,660 square metres of space, the new office design
leverages a simple and voluminous ‘tin shed’ concept to create a dramatic workplace
environment. For instance, shipping containers have been inserted into the
workplace layout to create fun mezzanine meeting and collaborative areas
expanding valuable spatial volume. The new workplace also offers a variety of
spaces for ad hoc, informal meetings.
Schiavello was engaged to deliver a furniture solution that encouraged
collaborative interaction between workers. Schiavello’s standing height Geneva
tables enable spontaneous meetings to take place near workstation clusters,
while Kayt Quiet, a booth-like lounge with high sides and back, creates an
instant space for private conversation or contemplation.
The Climate workplace platform selected for use throughout the office
space features a user-centred design that empowers team members to shape their
work environment by clipping and easily adjusting a variety of accessories to
Climate’s umbilical-like Channel.
The Schiavello team created highly custom storage solutions, including
freestanding clothing rack systems. Specialised storage units were also created
for the Typo brand at the end of each workstation cluster for storing smaller
brand-specific items.
Recognised for excellence in workplace design,
PTID’s office interior design for Cotton On was shortlisted for the 2014
Australian Interior Design Awards.
