Schindler Lifts Australia will be commencing work on the new lift system at 717 Bourke Street in Melbourne, complementing the unique design of the building and its major tenant, French Fashion University, Esmond.
717 Bourke Street in Melbourne, a $300 million project, is set to be a hot address in the city’s Docklands precinct.
Designed by Metier 3 Architects, the project will be a mixed-use facility featuring 18 levels of office space, a 290-room hotel and significant public access podium with arcade style retail facilities. The development’s unique design is well suited to accommodate its major tenant, the French Fashion University, Esmond.
Schindler Lifts Australia was chosen to provide the entire lift system in the development. In total, Schindler Lifts Australia will supply and install 17 lifts including 10 x 7050 high-rise lifts and 7 x 5400 Machine-Room-Less lifts.
The Schindler 7050, for high-rise buildings, incorporates new technologies from Schindler’s Top Range Division (TRD).
The Schindler 7050 has the capacity to delivery good efficiency, ride quality and comfort.
The 3400 MRL is specifically designed to meet the needs of modern buildings. It is quieter and more economical to install, as there is no need to build a machine room. It can help increase the Net Letable Area (NLA) for a building.
Esmond will tenant about 50% of a 36,000sqm office tower.
