Silestone is celebrating 25 years of design innovation with its
beautiful quartz surfaces available in more than 80 countries spanning six
continents.
Silestone’s story began in 1990 in the Spanish province of Almería from
a single production line with a limited range of six colours that were only
available in Spain. Twenty-five years later, Silestone has grown into a market
leader in quartz surfaces through constant commitment to innovation, product
diversification and international expansion, with more than 60 colours, 11
production lines and a worldwide distribution network of more than 90 Cosentino
Centres.
The important anniversary was commemorated by the Cosentino Group at its
Cantoria headquarters with Cosentino's founders, the Martínez-Cosentino Justo
Brothers, the executive board and a group of employees celebrating 25 years of
the brand's history. Special mentions went out to almost 60 people who
experienced the creation of Silestone first hand.
The Cosentino Group's founders, brothers Francisco, Eduardo and José
Martínez-Cosentino Justo expressed gratitude to their employees for their
effort and enthusiasm over the years.
Considered a revolution for the stone industry and for professionals
working in the sector, the Silestone material was created by combining the best
of natural stone in a single surface with one-of-a-kind physical and mechanical
qualities, made possible thanks to Cosentino's research and innovation. Silestone
has since then, evolved into a material that goes beyond decoration or
construction to bring new concepts in design, colour and finish to kitchens in
particular, and more recently to bathrooms.
To mark the 25th anniversary, Cosentino is extending the warranty on
Silestone from 10 years to 25 years on any work surfaces purchased after 1 January
2015.
Silestone has also added the Eco product line in a new Silestone series,
known as Silestone Eco Line. Consisting of 11 colours manufactured with at
least 50% recycled materials such as glass, porcelain and vitrified ash, among
others, the Silestone Eco Line series also contains an environment-friendly
partially vegetable resin.
The Cosentino Group will be celebrating the 25th
anniversary of Silestone with more actions planned throughout 2015.
