Bird Munchies, a leading Australian manufacturer of bird seed products
recently installed grid-connected solar inverters supplied by SolarMax through
its installation partner, Ygrene Energy.
SolarMax delivered four 15kW 15MT2 and one 10kW 10MT2 grid connected
inverters through Ygrene Energy to Bird Munchies for a 70kW rooftop solar PV
system comprising of 230 x 305kW solar photovoltaic (PV) panels from Yingli
Solar in Queanbeyan, New South Wales.
Designed to generate over 105MWh of solar power annually, the solar PV
system is expected to save Bird Munchies up to $25,000 a year in energy bills,
reduce its reliance on electricity from the grid, shrink their carbon footprint
by 104 tonnes annually and deliver an internal rate of return (IRR) of 27
percent per annum.
Bird Munchies Director Alan Irvine explained that as an Australian
manufacturer, they were constantly faced with pressures to produce more
competitively priced products. The energy savings facilitated by their new
solar power system will allow them to reduce their operating overheads and pass
on these savings to their customers. The company is also happy about their
reduced environmental footprint.
Tim Davaris, Managing Director, Ygrene Energy observes that Bird
Munchies is one of the many manufacturing facilities in Queanbeyan to install a
solar photovoltaic system, having seen solar power as a viable alternative for their
business.
Bird Munchies will rely on SolarMax’s remote monitoring platform and
utilise MaxWeb to access the SolarMax WebPortal over the internet and receive ongoing
updates on their systems’ performance.
Gavin Merchant, Key Account Manager for SolarMax Australia adds Ygrene
Energy has been instrumental in promoting SolarMax inverters; they are happy to
be part of Bird Munchies’ solar installation by supplying the Swiss-made solar
inverters.
Key features and benefits of SolarMax’s MT series inverters include easy
installation, high reliability and long lifespan; maximum efficiency of up to
98 percent; suitability for both indoor and outdoor installations; and meeting the
safety requirements as per AS/NZS 5033:2012 standards (IEC 62109-1/-2) as well
as AS 4777.2 and AS 4777.3 standards.
SolarMax products are accredited by the Clean Energy Council (CEC). All
SolarMax string inverters have a five-year standard warranty, which can be
extended up to 25 years.
