Sound Barrier Systems was recently contacted by the owners of a free-standing Californian Bungalow to design, supply and install soundproof double glazed windows and doors so as to reduce the traffic noise coming from Strathallen Ave.
A number of elements had to be taken into consideration, including the high acoustic ratings required as well as the period architectural style of the windows and doors from this 1920's property.
Sound Barrier designed, supplied and installed full replacement custom cedar framed windows and doors, glazed with acoustic double-glazing and fitted with high quality acoustic seals.
Associated works such as the replacement of internal sills and architraves as well as the patching of cement render were the final touch. Upon completion, the new soundproof double glazed windows and doors looked identical to those that they replaced but the rooms were now quiet and well insulated from buses, trucks and cars on the busy thoughrofare.
