Studco Building Systems supplied their EZYJamb door jamb system for an innovative affordable housing project spearheaded by the Yale School of Architecture and designed by their students.
The Yale School of Architecture has partnered with NeighborWorks New Horizons and HTP Ventures LLC for the second year running to work on a project to produce affordable housing based on a chosen student’s design.
Every year, Yale students are challenged as part of their Architecture study program to create a cost-efficient and flexible design prototype that could be applied to sites in New Haven and other urban areas across the country. This year’s design brief required a 1,000-square-foot house located on a corner lot in New Haven’s West River neighbourhood.
Studco’s EZYJamb door jamb system provided flush finishes in perfect alignment with the clean modern lines of the house. The design for the $130,000 USD house won the 2015 Award of Merit for Student Design.
