Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment, Stage 2, Campbelltown NSW
It was SUPAWOOD’s ability to provide a completely compliant, Fire Group 1 rated solution that proved them to be the best supplier of interior linings for the new Campbelltown Hospital. On top of this, SUPAWOOD provided detailed shop drawings to the client for ease of approval and installation, making an otherwise complex product application easy to install.
Stage 2 of the redevelopment of this hospital was a $632-million upgrade to bring world-class healthcare to the community. The project saw the delivery of a new clinical services building as well as refurbishment of existing buildings.
SUPAWOOD’s contribution to the redevelopment consisted of SUPASLAT walls and feature lift lobby walls with an alternating slat pattern in Tas Oak, Blackbutt and Spotted Gum SUPAFINISH concept veneer. Some of these slatted panels were custom curved to perfectly fit the space and had an acoustic backing fabric between the slats and battens to hide the battens, adding to the streamlined, neat appearance of the final product.
Panels for the lift lobby walls on each level of the hospital were assembled with painted aluminium backing boards, with colours chosen to match the native and indigenous colour scheme selected by the project architect.
As mentioned, there were strict guidelines and requirements around the fire compliance of the products used, with all products needing to be Fire Group 1 rated. SUPAWOOD provided certifications for all the products used, giving the architects, builders, and installers peace of mind that the products were compliant.
