Innovative SUPAWOOD acoustic and slatted panels feature strongly in the clever fitout of the 207-place Goodstart Early Learning Centre in Adelaide Street, Brisbane.
The designers, GrayPuksand, took on the challenge to convert what was the upper floor of an inner-city shopping mall into a child-friendly environment. Highly adaptable lining products were sought to not only suit the designers’ creative thinking but address noise reduction as well as comply with BAS requirements.
SUPAWOOD’s versatile range of lining products provided the choices the designers were seeking.
The client, Goodstart Early Learning Centres, had acquired the whole top floor of what was an inner-city shopping mall with a central atrium skylight area, which provided the potential for a striking asset to the design.
The cosy reception area is lined on the walls and ceiling with SUPASLAT slatted panels in Tasmanian Oak concept veneer.
Under the skylight of the central atrium, the designers have created an oasis park ‘in the centre of a city’ with zoned play areas. Positioned high on the walls are SUPACOUSTIC acoustic panels in matching Tasmanian Oak. These create an illusion of high-rise buildings surrounding the park and help dull the echo from the high expanse of the area.
All products have been chosen in fire resistant substrates and in VOC-free finishes to comply fully with BAS regulations.
The client is so pleased with the finish that Supawood products have also been specified in other Goodstart Early Learning Centres.
