Taubmans is launching a new fandeck to support its Colour Galaxy paint range online.
The new Taubmans Colour Galaxy Fandeck, which comes 15 years after the earlier version was released in the market, is based on extensive research into how design professionals use their decks.
Observing that Australian designers are increasingly inspiring their clients to make bold choices in paint, Taubmans Head of Marketing - Trade, Trevor Lowder said that the new fandeck clearly presents both classic and trend driven colours to meet this demand.
The new Colour Galaxy Fandeck features 1505 hand-selected shades divided into two main sections. The first section, ‘Whites, Neutrals and Mineral Tones’, which is based on Taubmans’ popular range of whites and neutrals, features a robust selection of old favourites and new directional shades. By bringing them to the front of the deck, the colours have been made easily accessible, simplifying the selection process for specifiers.
The second section, ‘Spectrum Colours’ is based on the hugely popular Spectrum Fandeck produced in 2000, and features both muted and clear palettes including accent colours that capture global colour trends. Spectrum Colours also includes 31 brand new colours that have been added to the Taubmans Colour Galaxy range.
An innovation in the new Taubmans Colour Galaxy Fandeck is the set of seven colour swatches on each leaf; the leaves that feature whites have darker shades in the centre of each leaf layout, functioning as a handy tool to compare colours on either side.
The new Colour Galaxy Fandeck is also packaged attractively with the embossed black cover featuring a convenient magnetic closure for ease of use. It was imperative that this new packaging was as inspiring as it was functional to ensure it will become a go-to colour tool for design professionals. A separate isolator included with the Colour Galaxy Fandeck features black, grey and white backgrounds, providing additional contrasts to help the designer or specifier freely select the perfect colour.
In celebration of the brand’s history, Taubmans also created a limited edition Colour Galaxy Fandeck bag, featuring artwork by muralist Stephen Baker. Depicting an image of a sign painter in Stephen’s signature colour blocking style, ‘The Painter’ was inspired by Taubmans’ founder, George Taubman, a Sydney sign writer, who decided to create his own paint brand in 1901 to ensure a supply of the highest quality paints needed for his trade.
