Taubmans announces the launch of new digital tools for the DIY segment to assist with every step of the painting process.
Created in collaboration with Colour Creative Director and Brand Ambassador, Shaynna Blaze, Taubmans Transformation Tools will help DIY painters throughout their home painting projects from picking a colour, and choosing the best product and prepping, to painting, cleaning up and styling the finished look.
Springtime is the popular season for home makeovers with many Australians putting into motion their design plans to improve their living environment. However, a nationwide study of over 1,500 Australians revealed that nearly half (47%) of the respondents felt they lacked the skills to accomplish a painting task as well as they’d have liked, with 37% saying they needed all the help they could get when it came to painting and decorating.
To fill this skills gap, Taubmans has created the Transformation Tools to give consumers extra help to get started with their painting and decorating projects. The Paint Planner for instance, is an innovative, industry-first tool that takes the pain out of planning, and provides users with bespoke, step-by-step plans for their painting project from start to finish.
According to the survey, over 70% of respondents didn’t like paying people to do things they could do themselves. With Taubmans Transformation Tools, the DIY segment can get the much-needed confidence and inspiration when embarking on an interior or exterior overhaul, not only saving money but also getting the satisfaction of having accomplished the job themselves.
Shaynna Blaze, who has considerable hands-on painting experience on hit renovation TV shows, understands the need to educate and motivate Australians to tackle their projects in the home. Observing that spring is the right time to make a change, she said the new season presents the perfect opportunity to give the home a fresh new look. Since many in the DIY segment do not have the necessary skills or knowledge to take on an interior or exterior transformation, she collaborated with Taubmans to create expert guidance for DIYers of all levels from first-timers to experienced painters.
Launched on the newly refurbished Taubmans website, the suite of Taubmans Transformation Tools includes:
- Paint Planner: A step-by-step plan to help users plan their painting projects, with a tailored timeline and shopping list to set them up for success
- ‘How To’ videos starring Shaynna Blaze: 12 videos that provide all the information, tricks and tips needed at every step of the painting journey, like how to select paint colours, how to prep a room for painting and how to paint
- Paint Your Own Room Tool: An easy way to visualise a colour in a space by uploading an image of a room and then digitally re-colouring the walls to compare potential options.
Shaynna adds that the new digital tools from Taubmans combined with inspiration will help Australians feel confident in their ability to pick up a paintbrush and tackle projects to create a fresh, new vibe in their home.
According to Taubmans Marketing Director Nadine Miller-Vachon, their research highlighted the need for functional and fun tools to arm Australians with the knowledge and confidence to get their paint projects started this spring. She explains that homeowners typically refer to the web for inspiration, tips and tools to help them complete their DIY dreams. Taubmans’ digital tools were created to support these consumers throughout their painting journey.
