Forster Fuego insulated fire rated windows incorporating Pilkington Pyrostop glass were installed at the Sutherland Hospital, Sutherland, NSW to separate the ICU unit from a fire corridor.
The -/120/120 fully insulated fire rated windows installed at the hospital consisted of Forster Fuego frames and Pilkington Pyrostop, a Grade A impact rated multi-laminate intumescent glass.
Forster Fuego Light is an insulated steel framing system offering fire, bullet, smoke and intruder resistance. Approved for fire resistance up to -/30/30 for sliding doors, -/60/60 for single, pair, and pivot doors, -/90/90 for single and pair doors, and -/120/120 for fixed windows, it offers an extremely cost-effective and aesthetically pleasing solution for many applications.
Available in both mild and stainless steel, Fuego Light provides a very slimline visible section with excellent strength, and is appropriate for very large panes. Mild steel sections can be treated with paint or powdercoating. Stainless steel sections are available in ratings up to 60 minutes as a linished 304 grade, and can also be painted or powdercoated for highly corrosive environments.

The Pilkington Pyrostop range is a family of clear, laminated fully insulating fire and impact resistant glass that offers the highest levels of fire protection (Integrity and Insulation), maximising the available levels of natural light and visibility. Depending on the thickness, it provides impact protection up to Grade A, AS1288. Pilkington Pyrostop provides a fully insulated solution for total protection against the spread of flames, thermal heat, and radiant heat. Ratings available include -/30/30, -/60/30, -/60/60, -/90/90, and -/120/120.
