Expandable barriers for low clearance
The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has an extensive range of expandable barriers for low clearance or low headroom applications.
ATDC has installed one of its heavy-duty expandable barriers to secure the premises of the Cancer Council at Eastwood, South Australia near Adelaide.
Project design specifications
The expandable barrier installed in this application spanned a 9-metre-wide car park entry, which had a restricted height limitation of less than 2400mm and almost no available space for an overhead support structure.
A slimline heavy duty RHS support beam was installed and the expandable barrier’s 40mm high extruded aluminium top tracking system was installed directly to it.
Other limitations on this installation included a requirement for no floor tracking due to the passage of cars and other vehicles through the car park entry.
Accordingly, lock up was achieved through a series of intermediate up/down locks, which provide seamless security without the need for any removable floor track.
Colour range
The doors installed on this project were supplied in a standard satin black powdercoated finish.

12-month warranty against defective materials and workmanship applies.
Project work
This unique door system folds completely out of the way and out of sight when not in use so as to provide a completely unobstructed and clear passageway for passing vehicles.
