The Wagga Iron Foundry is able to create a wide range of cast iron garden statues. Statues are generally of a ‘one off’ nature, meaning that the cast iron statue chosen will carry the full cost of creating the initial pattern. The more status produced the lower the cost per statue.
Cast iron garden statues are often have an intricate design with numerous 'undercuts'. A layer of rubber is used over the sand so that the mould can be drawn off the pattern without tearing.
A cast iron statue is installed in the Memorial Gardens in Wagga Wagga. The statue is of a little boy called "Peace". The statue is made from ductile iron and replaces concrete statues that were vandalised.
