Wattyl paints were specified during different stages of the construction of a new building at the University of Technology Sydney in Ultimo, NSW.
Opened in 2014, the University of Technology Sydney’s Faculty of Engineering and IT building designed by Denton Corker Marshall, is a state-of-the-art education facility comprising of research laboratories, teaching spaces and offices across its 13 storeys.
Chosen as the preferred coatings supplier from the early stages of the project, Wattyl supplied the builders, Lendlease with custom finishes matching the building’s internal facades.
Working with a renderer, Wattyl then supplied a custom specification of GranoPatch Smooth, tinted to a concrete colour, which was accepted and approved by the builder for the external texture.
When painting contractor, Paintscape secured the painting contract, Wattyl was again selected to provide a specification for the remaining building internals.
For the internal walls and trims, Wattyl I.D and Wattyl Aqua Trim – both Green Star compliant – were respectively specified and sample colours approved.
Both builder and painting contractor were satisfied with the product selection, performance and service provided by Wattyl throughout the project.
