Excellent low VOC interior product properties combined with accurate colour sample services contributed to Wattyl’s selection as preferred coatings supplier for the $312 million Blacktown Hospital Redevelopment project.
The Blacktown Hospital Redevelopment Stage 1 project included a 5-storey new in-patient building, 185 in-patient beds, additional outpatient clinics, a new in-centre renal dialysis unit and cancer care centre, medical imaging, pharmacy and retail spaces. Completed in 2016, the project was designed following Green Star requirements by architects Jacobs Group (Australia).
The building interior was painted using Wattyl I.D paints in a variety of bright colours, with the intended purpose of designating different sections of the hospital.
Externally, Wattyl Solagard was used in various areas, matching the large facade panels which make up much of the external structures. GranoImpact was also applied to the hospital exterior, delivering a high profile textured finish.
